How to create an online menu for your restaurant?

How to create an online menu for your restaurant?

An increasing host of your potential customers finds your restaurant through your website. So how can you present your menu of dishes in a way that is attractive?

Here are some tips:

Forget menus in PDF format

Why are there still so many restaurants that still use this in the cumbersome format?

A menu in PDF format is useful to have as a reference, but it should not be the main way your potential customers should use to view your menu. Here are three reasons why PDF menus will frustrate your customers:

They are inconvenient to download - Many people will not see your menu in PDF format simply because they do not want to download the file.

They are less interactive - PDF files are loaded in a separate window, so your potential customers leave your website, instead of encouraging them to stay longer and interact with your menu.

PDF menus are often obsolete – It is much easier to make quick changes if you have a menu section on your website, instead of making changes to a document and then creating and uploading a PDF to your server. Having a menu section on your website will save you a lot of time and is much more professional.

They are hard to see on mobile devices - Have you ever tried to view a PDF menu on a Smartphone? Not a good experience for the user.

Undo your PDF and add your menu directly to the "Menu" page of your website. Add a tab and name it "Menu" that is included in the main navigation bar of your web. Be sure to optimize it for all devices so your customers can find it easily.

Use images

Choose a professional photo to incorporate to your menu for each dish you add. A quality photo can make a huge difference and reflect the quality of your dishes.

Share your menu page on your social networks so your customers can directly access your offer.

Use nice photos and a descriptive language about your dishes.

Keep it simple

A simple design of your menu that is easy to read and interact with is the key. The best option is to show all your dishes on a single page with the option to click on any dish for more information. It is a good idea to divide the menus according to what you offer:

breakfast, lunch and dinner.

An interesting part of the psychology of the menus - removing the € symbol from prices has proved to be an effective way to increase reserves. The Euro sign reminds customers that they are going to spend money; while the number itself is a more abstract value. Consider leaving the price aside.

Update your menu frequently

This is obvious; update your online menu as you update your letter. Do not include the dishes that you no longer offer or who price rates have changed.
